Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
To the Waitsburg/Prescott School Communities:
On behalf of the team, school and community of supporters of Mount Vernon Christian School, I wanted to let you know how impressed we were to have had the opportunity to compete with your Tiger team in the State 2B/1B Boys' Soccer Championship Saturday.
My first thought is how humble and gracious your team players and coaches were. They were so very respectful as they competed - appropriately physical, organized and solid in their skill work and establishing of a system. They knew what they wanted to do and did the things to make that happen.
We have not competed with a team that treated us so well during the match and afterward going through the endof match handshake line. There were honest handshakes, heartfelt comments offered, and even some player hugs and exchanges with our boys. It was a sight that I will hold with me as a special memory of the match with your school.
I am sure you have worked hard to establish core values and expectations for your soccer program, as we have. We have often fallen short when things have not gone our way. Your players did not let their disappointment of the championship evening get in the way of being tremendous ambassadors for your schools and community. They well served us and we are humbled and filled the gratefulness for their actions and words.
We wish you nothing but the best as you all move forward from this match. I would love to speak with you at a later date about coming to visit this summer and see if we could spend a day or two playing soccer, working on skills with our younger players, and just being around such a great group of student athletes as you have.
You have a lot to be proud of with regard to your boys' soccer program. We are hopeful our actions and words served your team as well. Robert Adeline, Athletic Director Elementary and Middle School Principal Assistant Boys' Soccer Coach Mount Vernon Christian School
