Making Their Mark

Walla Walla artist Squire Broel visited Waitsburg students last week and shared the planning and process behind his "Founding Fathers" art piece that will grace Waitsburg's Main Street in time for the town's 150th anniversary celebration this May. On Thursday, Broel helped locals add a personal touch to one of the panels on the obelisk. Participants used their thumbs to make a swooping mark that will cause raindrops to bounce from the piece as they slide down.
