Report of missing person taken at Valley View Court; subject hadn’t been seen for 24 hours and had been enroute to Walla Walla. Deputies contacted Walla Walla and learned that the subject had been transported to the mission by Walla Walla police officers. A third-party complainant stated a friend on S. Willow Street had been startled by someone banging on the house; deputies did not see anything suspicious upon arrival. Domestic dispute reported in Starbuck on W. 1st Street; under investigation.
Jan. 20
Theft of scooter from neighbor’s yard on S. 3rd Street; deputy contacted suspects and the scooter was returned until the owner can verify it was taken with permission. Theft of furniture taken from front porch on S. 5th Street. Fraudulent check received in the mail on N. 3rd Street. Theft of business sign from driveway on S. 4th Street. Possible reckless driver in a semi-truck near milepost 382 on Highway 12; state patrol notified. Open door located on a business near milepost 361 on Highway 12; nothing taken from the business. Deputies assisted Dayton Ambulance personnel with a medical call on W. Main Street.

Deputies assisted the Department of Corrections in arresting Dayton female Jessica Glasby, 29, on a DOC warrant. Illegal dumping reported on Rose Gulch Road.
Jan. 22
Vehicle prowl reported on E. Richmond Avenue; someone entered the vehicle sometime during the night and stole two tool sets and a CB antenna. Fraudulent transaction on credit card and bank account reported on Highway 261 near milepost 5. Vandalism damage to windshield of pickup truck on N. 3rd Street. Reckless driver reported on Highway 12 near milepost 382; semi-truck reportedly westbound exhibiting excessive speeds and poor passing behaviors but was not observed by deputies upon their arrival.
Jan. 23
Disturbance reported on S. 5th Street; deputies responded and determined the yelling heard was from a child looking for school books. Non-injury collision reported by tow company; vehicle had gone off the N. Touchet Road near Ski Bluewood the night before, and the vehicle had already been removed from the scene. Fraudulent phone calls received on E. Patit Avenue from someone claiming to work for the IRS and stating the resident must hire a lawyer by the end of the day or go to jail. Vandalism reported on Rose Gulch Road; someone reportedly drove on the caller’s property, cut trees and broke a water line. Fire, EMS and deputies responded to a non-injury collision on Whetstone Road near milepost 10 where a green mustang had gone over the edge of the roadway; driver was cited for speed too fast for conditions.

Purse found on W. Main Street; deputies were able to identify the owner and return the property. Parking complaint on S. 3rd Street; red Dodge parked on the grass was removed by owner.
Jan. 25
Hit and run reported on W. Washington Avenue; unknown vehicle knocked over a light pole and hit two parked vehicles during the night. Under investigation.
