Program Addresses Dementia

DAYTON – Natasha Delano, the director of Parkview at Wheatland Village in Walla Walla, will speak at the Dayton Senior Center at 1 p.m. on Tuesday on the topic of “Understanding the Person with Dementia and Tips on Navigating Through Times of Change.” Dayton resident Barbara Gibson encourages anyone interested to attend the presentation, “because dementia doesn’t recognize boundaries and can affect all people regardless of age. And the caregiver is such an important part of the dementia patient’s life. Come find out what to look for, what to expect, and what to do.” This one-hour program will address Alzheimer’s disease as well as dementia and offer insights for greater understanding of the person behind the dementia as well as tips on helping them through times of change. For more information, contact Delano at NDelano@wheatlandvillage.com or (509) 876-4967 or Gibson at (509) 382-2836.
