Substance Abuse Is Target of March Wellness Program

DAYTON – March is Substance Abuse Awareness month, and members of the Coalition for Youth and Families have several activities planned. They will place table tents in several businesses and offices around town to offer information to the public on raising awareness of substance abuse issues.

Parenting classes will be offered every Monday night at the Delaney Building from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Guiding Good Choices is a Best Practice Parent Education Curriculum course meant to enhance parenting skills, promote healthy bonding, and prevent substance abuse in children. For more information, contact Laura Tolman at Blue Mountain Counseling, (509) 382-1164.

April is Alcohol Awareness Month, also sponsored by the Coalition for Youth and Families. For more details on activities planned, information on substance or alcohol abuse, or to reach the coalition, visit their Facebook page.
