'Irreplaceable' Planning Volunteer Resigns

Columbia County Commissioner Dwight Robanske (l) presents longtime Dayton resident Ron Groom with a plaque on March 18 commemorating 25 years as a volunteer on the county planning commission. "We'll find someone to sit in your chair, but they won't replace you," said Planning Director Kim Lyonnais, who also commented this may be the longest term any volunteer has held the position. Groom said he has really enjoyed his time in the seat and thanked the county for the opportunity.
