Waitsburg Council is Sworn In

WAITSBURG – Waitsburg’s current mayor and city council members ran unopposed in the 2015 elections this month and were sworn in by City Admininstrator Randy Hinchliffe at the April 15 City Council meeting. Mayor Walt Gobel said he was disappointed to see that Izzy the Camel failed to receive his traditional write-in vote this year. Hinchliffe said 157 voters cast ballots which is 30 shy of the year prior.

Gobel was re-elected mayor, for his third one-year term, with 117 votes. The following individuals received write-in votes for mayor: Markeeta Little Wolf (3), Don Siedleman (8), Martin Dunn (2), Joy Smith (1), Jim Davison (2).

The council seats remain the same with Kevin House (134), Martin Dunn (126), Karl Newell (124), K.C. Kuykendall (124) and Debra Callahan (112) re-elected to office. Write-ins included: Leroy Cunningham (3), Stan Bly (2), Daniel LaRue (1), Ron Griffen (1), Joy Smith (1), Richard Hinds (1), Karen Gregutt (3), Gary Thomas (1), Ross Hamann (1), Fred Hamann (1), Delores Nettles (2), Gail Gwinn (2), Jeff Bartlow (1), Robert Richardson (1), Mike Ferrians (3), Tad Brannock (1), Markeeta Little Wolf (1), Jim Davison (2), Walt Gobel (2), Dan Cole (2), and Todd Wood (1).
