Dayton High School students, including many in the Students Helping Each Other (SHEO) club, helped clean the alleys and other out-of-the-way places near Steve's Grocery, around the high school and along the Touchet River dike in April. Pictured here are (l to r) seniors Andrew Mendoza, Tyler Cooper and Daniel Mendoza with Jennifer Price, SHEO advisor and youth coordinator for the Coalition for Youth and Families. "The goal is to reduce the 'hiding' places by cleaning up the area and increasing visibility to watch for unsafe, unhealthy and illegal activity," said Peggy Gutierrez, program director for the coalition.
