WAITSBURG - The annual Waitsburg High School alumni banquet will be held on May 23, 2015 at the Waitsburg Elementary School multipurpose room. A meet-and-greet will take place at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. A social gathering will follow at the Waitsburg Town Hall.
The Bruce and Wilson-Phillips houses will be open from 2-4 p.m. and the high school will be open from 4-6 p.m. Dinner is $15/person and dues are $10. The event is sponsored by the Waitsburg High School Alumni Association and is open to all graduates of the high school, their spouses and guests. The class of 2015 will be welcomed into the association, and their family members are encouraged to join in the celebration. RSVP to Patty Mantz at pjmantz@charter.net or to Darleen Dozier at (509) 520-2884 by May 15.
The Waitsburg High School Alumni Association currently awards two $1,000 scholarships from its scholarship fund that was created in 2014. Recipients are selected by the Blue Mountain Foundation, and the goal is to grow the fund so that more $1,000 scholarships may be awarded each year.
The Lloyd Fund is available to any WHS alumni college student (four-year college, community college, technical college or trade school) in their last year of school who is in need of borrowing money to complete their education. The loan does not need to be paid back until the student has obtained a job, and then a payment plan will be setup. Contact Jeff Broom at jbroom6688@charter.net for further information on Lloyd Fund loans.
The WHS Alumni Association is currently sponsoring a fundraiser called the “Brick Project.” Each brick costs $50 and will be placed near the link to the high school. Bricks may be engraved with your name and year of graduation or may list family members who have graduated from WHS. All proceeds go to fund the WHS Alumni Scholarship Fund.
