Larsen Pitches WP Past Gar-Pal; extra-inning runs overcome W-M
PRESCOTT – The Waitsburg-Prescott baseball team hosted Garfield-Palouse on May 6, and limited the Viking offense to one run, winning 4-1.
Defensive miscues allowed Gar-Pal to pick up a quick first-inning run, but pitcher Talen Larsen then held G-P scoreless through the sixth, giving up just five hits. Chance Leroue closed out the game on the mound. The Tigers had five errors in the game.
"Despite some early struggles defensively we were able to hang in there and get it done," said WP Coach Dustin Snedigar. "Talen Larsen threw really well early, and kept getting stronger as the game went on."
For the game, Jacob Dunn and Devin Acevedo each had two hits. Larsen also struck out seven Vikings.

After a scoreless seventh, the game went into extra innings, and the Tigers got two runs in the top of the eighth, that proved to be the difference. In the bottom of the eighth, Kyle Gradwohl came on in relief of Dunn and struck out the side for the win.
