Bulldogs moved on to the District 7/9 Regionals as 2nd seed
WALLA WALLA – The Dayton Bulldogs' softball team had an easy time with Asotin Saturday in the first round of the Southeast District 9 tournament, beating the Panthers 11-1.
Sarah Phillips had her second consecutive four-hit game for Dayton, as she scored three times and scored two bases. Samii Bledsoe added two hits and three RBIs. Dayton had a total of 13 hits on the day.
Pitcher Megan Robins struck out 10 Asotin Batters, as the Lady Bulldogs moved on to round two against DeSales.

DeSales 9, Dayton 4
The Dayton girls gave up four first-inning runs to DeSales in their second game at districts Saturday and couldn't recover, losing 9-4. The Lady Bulldogs narrowed the score to 5-3 in the fourth inning, but gave up four more runs in the final three innings.
For the Game, Dayton had six hits, with Sarah Phillips and Taylor Frame getting two each. The Lady Bulldogs were also hurt by committing four errors. Pitcher Savannah McFarland gave up 10 Irish hits.
"We had smart base running and some terrific plays on defense," said Dayton assistant coach Desirae Jones. "We did mark a loss but the girls played a great game."
Dayton moves on, as the second seed, to the Southeast District 7/9 regional tournament in Spokane on Saturday. The tournament will be at Merkel Field in Northwest Spokane, with the first game beginning at 11 a.m.
