'70 Buick To Be Raffled Again

Last year’s raffle winners donated prize back to Dayton Chamber for another round

Last year’s raffle winners donated prize back to Dayton Chamber for another round

DAYTON – The Dayton Chamber of Commerce’s second annual classic car raffle will feature the same car as the first. The 1970 Buick Electra 225 will again help raise funds for the Dayton Chamber of Commerce and All Wheels Weekend.

Last year’s winners, Bob and Jeri Krieg, of Clarkston, enjoyed the car for a year, putting just over 1,000 miles on it. “We took it on a trip to Montana,” said Bob Krieg. “It runs great; everything works except the clock.”

The Kriegs decided to donate the car back to the Chamber because they already have a classic car collection. “I drive a Chevelle, and my wife has a Mustang,” Krieg said. The Kriegs figured they could get a tax break and help out the Dayton Chamber at the same time.

The Buick was donated to the Chamber last year by Merle and Joelle Jackson, of Dayton. The car was purchased new by Joelle’s brother.

Tickets for this year’s raffle are again $10. The raffle is sponsored this year by The Times, and proceeds will go to the Dayton Chamber of Commerce.
