Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival returns for its eighth season, performing at more than 30 events in Walla Walla and the Touchet Valley, during June 4 – 27. While most of the performances require an admission fee, there is no charge for open rehearsals, children’s events and outreach concerts that are open to the public.
Of the 10 open rehearsals, held place from 10 a.m. to noon, one will take place at jimgermanbar, on Waitsburg’s Main Street on June 16. Other open rehearsals include: Whitehouse-Crawford Restaurant, June 8; Kirkman House Museum, June 10; Walla Walla Presbyterian Church, June 11 and June 18, Walla Walla Regional Airport, June 19; Columbia REA, June 22; Walla Walla General Hospital, June 23; Fort Walla Walla Museum, June 25.
Three 45-minute children’s concerts, titled “Sounds Like Fun!” and sponosored by Columbia REA, are also free. The first concert will be held on June 5, at 4:30 p.m. at the Dayton Memorial Library. The Walla Walla Public Library will host a concert on June 17 at 3 p.m. and the Walla Walla YMCA will host a performance at 10 a.m. on June 24.
Outreach concerts will be held for local seniors on June 5 at 10 a.m. at the Walla Walla YMCA. Rotary Club members are invited to a free performance at the Marcus Whitman Hotel at noon on June 11 and local veterans may attend a performance on June 24 at 3 p.m. at the VA Medical Center.
