City Hires New Attorney

DAYTON – The city of Dayton has hired a new city attorney: Anthony Menke of Menke, Jackson and Beyer in Yakima. City councilors authorized the contract during their regular meeting June 8. Menke’s official start date is July 14.

Gregory Lutcher, a Walla Walla lawyer, had been the city’s official attorney for the last three years. City councilors solicited qualified proposals for a new attorney and selected Menke from the five letters of interest received, according to City Clerk Trina Cole. Menke has over 40 years of experience with municipal law; the city council unanimously approved the selection, Cole said.
