DAYTON – The Dayton School District is seeking to improve communication between citizens and the school district through a new initiative called Bulldog Alliance.
The Bulldog Alliance will include parents, downtown business leaders, senior citizens, farmers, civic leaders and other community members with an interest in an open exchange of information between the district and community members.
The district will pass on news about the successes and challenges within in our school district, as well as listen to what community members think about their local schools. This will help guide decisions which impact students, programs, and community members.
Superintendent Doug Johnson will use emails, electronic newsletters, and a small number of face to face meetings to provide timely and accurate information to community members who wish to be part of this communication effort.
Members of the Bulldog Alliance will:
Receive emails with timely information from the district
Provide feedback as appropriate
Share accurate information with neighbors, co-workers, and relatives
Correct misinformation and encourage communication with district employees
Listen to and share community members ideas with district officials
Participate in on-line surveys to gather information
Attend 2-3 informal meetings each year to communicate with the District and other Alliance members
Anyone interested in becoming a part of The Bulldog Alliance should contact Superintendent Johnson at the District office at 509-382-2543 or by email at dougj@daytonsd.org.
