Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
WALLA WALLA – Students from Walla Walla Valley schools will have the opportunity to show off their entrepreneurial talents and possibly take home a $500 prize by competing in Pitch It!, Walla Walla’s version of Shark Tank. The Pitch It! competition, now in its second year, challenges students to hone their entrepreneurial skills by developing and presenting realistic business models.
Students will participate in workshops to help hone their ideas and pitches before competing in a preliminary competition, divided by grade bracket, on Nov. 4. Grade brackets are grades K-8, 9-12, and 13+ (college) and the competition is open to all students at all schools in the Walla Walla Valley.
Volunteer mentors will be assigned to students and a community-wide entrepreneurial panel will judge the final event, held before a live audience, on Nov. 18.
The first place winner will receive a $500 cash prize from Baker Boyer Bank and three coaching sessions on the fundamentals of building a successful business.
