Emily Adams leads by over 20 seconds at the finish
PASCO – The Cardinal Cross Country team put forth a stellar performance at the Bulldog Invite in Pasco on Sat. Oct., 3.
Emily Adams brought home first place, out of 26 racers, in the girls varsity 5K, with a personal best for the course of 19:52.7. Second place went to Carmen Eggleston of Asotin with a time of 20:17.8.
“Emily ran a smart race and finished strong. About two miles into the race she took off, leading the race by over 20 seconds at the finish,” said Cardinal Coach Ann Adams.
Landon Callas placed 9th, out of 40 runners, with a personal best time of 17:47.2. Skylar Wood also PR’d, placing 24th with a time of 19:30.9. Tom House made his best time on the course with a 22:54.
“Big Cross is a tough course. Setting a personal best on that course is hard to do,” said Adams.
Koby Harris represented the Cardinals in the middle school division and crossed the two-mile finish line in 15:48.6 for 12th place.
The Cardinals have a home meet on Oct.7 at 4 p.m. and will race again on Sat. Oct. 10 at the Richland Invite.
