Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
DAYTON – Representative Terry Nealey, of Dayton has been awarded the “City Champion” award by the Association of Washington Cities.
Nealey is one of six legislators recognized this year for their work to support city interests during the 2015 legislative session. In a press release, AWC commended Nealey for his work to try to craft solutions to problems and costs associated with costly public records requests, while maintaining public access to information.
“For many years, Rep. Nealey has done a tremendous job supporting cities’ needs in the Legislature, especially in the areas of the abuse of public disclosures for private gain,” said Dayton Mayor Craig George.
George, who also serves as Past President of the AWC Board of Directors, will present the award to Nealey on November 9. The presentation will be held in conjunction with the Dayton City Council’s regularly scheduled meeting at City Hall.
