"We played Dayton much better this time compared to our first meeting. I'm proud of the girls for their improvement in this match and being able to put together a strong match. Phillips had the highest number of kills with 10, followed by Fullerton with seven. Hannah Becker gave up 16 assists, and Fullerton added eight assists and 13 digs.
The Oct. 29 game left Waitsburg looking toward a match against DeSales on Nov. 2, to determine who will take seed #3 at the District 7/9 regionals. That match was ultimately won by DeSales in five sets, wrapping up Waitsburg's season.
The Lady Bulldogs will compete at the Regional Tournament in second place. They play Wilbur-Creston on Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. in Colfax. Then they head to the regional playoffs in Asotin on Sat., Nov. 7 to determine which teams advance to State.
"We've had an awesome season with much growth and improvement in these young ladies that have been led by juniors Josilyn Fullerton, Jenna Phillips, and Mia Becker. Come support us and watch us play!" said Bulldog Coach Shannon Turner.
