Calling all Quilts

DAYTON – The Dayton Historic Depot is planning an exhibit next year of quilts made by people living in Dayton and Columbia County. This will be the third consecutive quilt show hosted at the Depot.

In 2014, quilts in the collections of the Depot and the Boldman House were on display. In 2015 historic quilts owned by people living in Dayton and Columbia County were on display.

The new exhibit will begin in January and will run through December. Quilts will be on loan to the Depot for the exhibit.

Quilts can be of any age and any style. They could be brand new and contemporary; they may be older and traditional; they may be newer but based on traditional patterns.

The common theme is that the quilts are all made in Dayton or Columbia County by people living here.

This 2016 exhibit will be an opportunity to show trends in quilting in our modern times, a continuation of the historically important activity of quilting for women in our country.

If you would like to include your quilt in the exhibit, please contact Tamara Fritze, manager of the Dayton Depot, at 382-2026.
