Arraignments/Pleas:

Gary Marshall, 60, Burbank, WA; Pleaded not guilty to attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle, a Class C felony. On Nov. 28, Marshall was allegedly clocked by radar at a speed of 88 mph. at mp 363 Hwy 12. Marshall allegedly outran the pursuing police vehicle into Waitsburg and pulled into a driveway on E. 3rd St. Marshall allegedly repeatedly refused police orders to stop and show his hands. After being tazed and dry stunned, he was tripped to the ground, restrained, and arrested. He was released on a $2,500 unsecured personal recognizance bond.

Dante A. Brown, 19, Dayton; Accepted a plea agreement, pleading guilty to one count of delivery of a controlled substance (meth). Dante, who requested to be called Martinez, was originally charged with two charges of delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school or public park. Brown was released from jail on personal recognizance and is scheduled for sentencing on Jan. 20, 2016.

Joel O. Ballard, 23, Dayton; pleaded not guilty to assault in the third degree. Ballard, who lived at Patit Creek ARC is accused of assaulting a fellow resident on Nov. 29. The victim, who allegedly briefly lost consciousness after striking his head on the sidewalk, was taken to the hospital and found to have light bruising on the crown of his head and an abrasion on his knee. Ballard cannot return to Patit Creek ARC and is being held in Columbia County Jail on a $10,000 surety bond.

Trials Set:

Hector Vela, 53, Dayton; charged with one count of distribution of a controlled substance to a person under 18 years of age, one count of delivery/manufacture/possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and one count of possession of over 1 oz. of usable marijuana. Trial set for Feb. 4-5 2016.

Other Legal Action:

Jared J. Mings, 32, Starbuck; Did not appear to have trial date re-set. Mings is charged with trafficking in stolen property and second-degree theft. Mings is in DOC custody; prosecution continued to Dec. 16, 2015.
