My favorite holiday recipe is pumpkin pie. I like pumpkin pie because it is a family secret. I also like the pie because my grandma makes it a special way. The last reason I like it is because I can make it myself. That is why I like pumpkin pie. Here is the recipe to my favorite pie:
Pumpkin Pie
Ingredients:
2 cups of pumpkin
2/3 cups of sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
2 cups of milk
2 tablespoons molasses
Directions: Stir pumpkin to remove lumps, add dry ingredients and stir vigorously. Beat eggs slightly, add to milk and molasses and combine the two mixtures, blend well. Pour into pie shells and bake at 450 degrees for ten minutes, or until crust begins to color. Lower heat to 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until a silver knife comes out clean when inserted in the center of the pie.
P.S. My grandma’s pie crust recipe is not included because it is a secret family recipe!

My favorite holiday recipe is French toast. I love French toast because we have it for Christmas every year. Sometimes my mom says I can help make it to. French toast is super sticky and fun to eat. I chose French toast because I have it for Christmas every year and I love it. Here is how to make French toast:
French Toast
Texas toast
Eggs
Cinnamon
Powdered sugar
Directions: Dip the Texas toast in egg bather mix put it on the skillet set for 350. Turn over one time. Add powdered sugar and syrup; serve and enjoy!

My favorite family recipe is ginger bread houses. I think they taste good when my grandma makes them. How we make them is we get walls and gum drops and some frosting. We mix them to look like our house. But the green gum drops are for the bushes. The M and M’s are for the lights but the Twizzlers are for the roses. I hope you like them too. Here is what you will need:
Gingerbread houses
You get your ginger bread, frosting and candies and put some frosting where you put the walls so they’re stable and you stick frosting to the sides of the walls so they stick. After that you put about 4 or 5 gumdrops in the yard of the house. Rip some gumdrop pieces off the gumdrop so you have leaves. Then use red gumdrops as red leaves.

For my favorite recipe, I chose candied yams because I have never tried it before. I would like to try it. It sounds really yummy and I like candy so I will probably like it. When I try them hopeful I will like them. Maybe you would too. Here is the recipe:
Candied Yams
4 lbs. medium skinned sweet potatoes, peeled & cut into 1” pieces
2/3 C packed golden brown sugar
5 T butter
1 t ground cinnamon
2 C miniature marshmallows
Preheat oven to 375. Arrange potatoes in a 13x9 baking dish. Combine sugar, butter, cinnamon in saucepan on medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves. Pour over yams. Bake yams for 50 minutes, basting occasionally. Increase oven temp to 500. Top yams with marshmallows and return to oven. Bake until marshmallows begin to melt.

My favorite holiday recipe is Peanut Butter Bonbons. I love peanut butter bonbons because my sister did, but I don’t know why. Also the reason why I chose this recipe is because it reminds me of my sister, Xochitl.
Peanut Butter Bonbons
1½ cups of powdered sugar,
1 cup gram cracker crumbs (about 12 squares)
½ cup of butter
½ cup of peanut butter
1 package (6 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
Mix powdered sugar and cracker crumbs. Heat butter and peanut butter over low heat until melted; stir into crumb mixture. Shape mixture into 1 inch balls. Heat chocolate chips with 1 table spoon shortening. Dip balls into chocolate with tongs until coated; place on wax paper. Refrigerate until firm.

My favorite holiday recipe is German style pancakes. The reason I love them is because. I can put any kind of syrup on them and they sill taste good. I also like them because they fill me up. I also like how puffy they are. That is why I picked them as my favorite. Here is how you can make them:
German Style Pancakes
Ingredients
3 large eggs
1/2cup all-purpose flour
1/2cup milk, preferably whole
1/4teaspoon kosher salt
1/2teaspoon vanilla extract
2tablespoons unsalted butter
2tablespoons fresh lemon juice (optional)
1/2cup fruit jam (optional)
2tablespoons confectioners’ sugar
Directions
Heat oven to 400° F. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs to combine. Add the flour and whisk until smooth. Add the milk, salt, and vanilla and mix until incorporated; set aside.
Add the butter to a large cast-iron skillet and transfer to oven until the butter melts. Remove from oven and quickly pour the batter into the hot skillet. Return to oven and bake until the pancake is puffed and golden, about 15 minutes.
Drizzle the lemon juice (if using) over the pancake. Spread the jam (if using) evenly over the top. Sprinkle with the confectioners’ sugar.

My favorite holiday recipe is Christmas crunch. It has a lot of chocolate in it. Also my mom makes it every year. The whole thing is covered in chocolate popcorn. This is why I chose Christmas crunch.

My mom`s favorite holiday recipe is Icebox Pudding. My mom likes icebox pudding because she likes to make it on Thanksgiving. My mom also likes icebox pudding because she likes the taste of it. She says icebox pudding is very good! That is why I chose Icebox pudding. Here is how she makes it:
2 cans of crushed pineapple
2 packs of crushed graham crackers
1 big container of cool whip
Now here are the directions: use a rolling pin to crush the graham crackers (have them in a Ziploc bag). Then drain the liquid from the crushed pineapple. Use a glass dish to serve in. First place graham crackers on bottom of dish (cover the bottom). Make a layer of pineapple and cover with whipped cream. Continue the order again – graham cracker, pineapple, chipped cream. It makes layers as you go. The last layer will be graham crackers. Refrigerate to chill and enjoy!

Ingredients:
¾ cup granulated sugar
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
½ tsp. ground ginger
¼ tsp. ground clove
2 large eggs
1 can (15oz) Libbys 100% Pure pumpkin
1 can (12oz) Carnation evaporated milk
1 uncooked 9-inch (4 cup volume) deep dish Pie Shell
Directions:
Mix sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger and cloves in a small bowl. Beat eggs in a large bowl. Stir in pumpkin and sugar-spice mixture. Gradually stir in evaporated milk. Pour into pie shell. Bake in preheated 425 degree oven for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees and bake for 40-45 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack for 2 hours. Serve immediately or refrigerate.

My favorite holiday recipe is for brownies. I love brownies because they sometimes have a lot of chocolate. I like brownies also because they don’t have to be chocolate. I love brownies when my grandma makes them. 1 cup of flour 1 cup of sugar half cup of cocoa 2 eggs
half teaspoon salt half stick of butter a quarter cup of milk
Mix all ingredients starting with all the dry ingredients then the liquid
Next mix until the mixture is thick but easy to mix
Then grease a cake pan with olive oil
Pour the brownie mixture into the pan
Back for 20 to 25 minutes
Once they’re done, let them sit for about 5 to 10 mins
Cut and serve

My favorite holiday recipe is sweet potatoes. I love sweet potatoes because they are sweet and good. Every Thanksgiving my mom makes them and I make sure I get some. I love sweet potatoes because they are super yummy. That is why I like sweet potatoes. Here is how you can make them too:
Sweet Potatoes:
6 yams
¼ cup Brown sugar
1cup mini marshmallows
¼ cup Butter
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350
Peel and dice yams - put yams, in 9x13 baking dish,
Slice butter stick and place slices on top of yams,
Sprinkle brown sugar over top of yams and put marsh mallows with yams and sugar,
Back in oven for 45 minutes.

My favorite holiday recipe is for posole. I love posole because my mom makes it only for certain occasions. My mom is the only person that I know who makes the best posole. Every time my uncle comes she makes it and everybody in my family loves posole. It tastes spicy and sweet at the same time. I chose posole because it is the best soup in the whole world!
1 TBS canola oil
2 (1lb) pork tenderloins, cut into 1 ½in pieces
4 C fat free, lower sodium chicken broth
1 2/3 C chopped onion (about 1 medium)
1 ½ tsp ground cumin
1 tsp dried oregano
½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
¼ tsp ground cloves
1/8 tsp crushed red pepper
4 large garlic cloves, minced
2 (15.5oz) can white hominy, rinsed and drained
2 (4.5oz cans chopped green chiles, undrained
1 C packaged angel hair slaw
½ C thinly sliced radishes (4 radishes)
½ C diced peeled avocado
2 limes, each cut into 4 wedges (optional)
Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium high heat. Add oil to pan: swirl to coat. Add pork to pan. Cook 8 minutes, browning on all sides.
Combine pork, broth and next nine ingredients (through chiles) in a 5 quart electric slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours. Ladle posole into bowls: top with slaw, radishes and avocado. Serve with lime wedges if desired.

My favorite holiday recipe is Jell-O Oreo pie. I love Jell-O Oreo pie because my grandma is the only person that can make it. I love Jell-O Oreo pie also because it is full of Oreos and chocolate. I like the surgery taste in it. That is why I chose Jell-O Oreo pie for my holiday recipe so I hope you like it to. Here is how it is made:
Jell-O Oreo Pie
2 PKG Oreo cookies n’ cream instant pudding
2-1/2 cups of milk
1 tub cool whip whipped topping thawed divided
1 Oreo pie crust
5 Oreos cookies cut in half
Beat pudding mixes and milk with whisk 2 min. Stir in half the cool whip. Pour into crust. Refrigerate 4 hours or until firm. Top with remaining cool whip and cookies just before serving.

My favorite holiday recipe is Gingerbread Boys. I love gingerbread boys because I like to make them with my grandma and my cousin, Tyler. I also like to go over to my friend’s and eat the frosting off of his gingerbread boys. They are yummy and super easy to eat. I chose gingerbread boys as my favorite recipe and I hope you like them too. Here is my grandma’s recipe:
Gingerbread Boys
½ C shortening
½ C sugar
½ C dark molasses
¼ C water
2 ½ C Flour
¾ tsp salt
½ tsp soda
¾ tsp ginger
¼ tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp allspice raisins
Candied cherries or red gum drops
Citron
String licorice
Decorator’s icing
Cream shortening and sugar. Blend in molasses, water, flour, salt, soda, ginger, nutmeg and allspice. Cover and chill 2-3 hours. Heat oven to 375. Roll dough ¼ inch thick on lightly floured board. Cut with gingerbread boy cutter; place on ungreased baking sheet. Press raisins into dough for eyes, nose and buttons. Use bits of candied cherries and strips of citron and string licorice for other trims. Bake 10-12 minutes. Immediately remove from baking sheet. Trim with decorator’s icing. Makes about 15 4” cookies.

My favorite holiday recipe is Cheerio Cookies. I love Cheerio cookies because my dad makes them all the time. I also love them because they’re so easy to eat. Cheerio cookies
1 cup of Sugar
1 cup light Karo syrup
1 cup peanut butter
6 cups cereal or noodles
The first thing you do to make Cheerio cookies is mix 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of light Karo syrup and 1 cup of peanut butter until it is smooth. After you mix, add 6 cups of cereal or noodles. Once that is finished, cook in oven for 30mins. When they come out and you want them right away it is best to put the Cheerio cookies in a bowl. Next, eat and enjoy.

Chicken potato soup recipe
Ingredients
10 small potatoes
1 whole shredded chicken
½ cup sour cream
1 stick of butter
1 cup of whole milk
½ cup of mozzarella cheese
Salt, cornstarch
Cube potatoes, cover with ample water. Generously salt and boil until soft. Add chicken, sour cream, butter, whole milk and cheese. Gently mix while melting. Add desired cornstarch to thicken, if desired.

1/2 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 teaspoon baking powder
Frosting:
3 tablespoons butter, softened
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8-inch square pan.
In a large saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter. Remove from heat, and stir in sugar, eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat in 1/3 cup cocoa, 1/2 cup flour, salt, and baking powder. Spread batter into prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Do not overcook.
To Make Frosting: Combine 3 tablespoons softened butter, 3 tablespoons cocoa, honey, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 cup confectioners’ sugar. Stir until smooth. Frost brownies while they are still warm.

My favorite holiday recipe is macaroni salad. I love macaroni salad because my mom and dad make macaroni salad with lots salt and pepper. Another reason I like macaroni salad is because of the sweet pickles in it. That is macaroni salad is my favorite holiday recipe. Here is how we make it:
Macaroni Salad
Ingredients: 1 bag of elbow macaroni
6oz cheese cubed (cheddar cheese)
1/6 cup onion-chopped
5 eggs hard boiled and chopped
Mayo
Salt and pepper
Sweet pickles-chopped
Sweet pickle juice-2 table spoons.
How to make:
cook macaroni according to package directions
mix all ingredients together
put enough mayo in to make salad desire consistency (usually 1 ½ cups)
salt and pepper to taste

Directions
Put olive oil cast iron skillet. Fry the 4 duck breast. When almost done add mushrooms. When duck and mushroom are cooked, pour can of cream of mushroom soup on top. Let heat up and then eat.

My favorite holiday recipe is Wild Turkey Soup. I think it is really good. My dad made it for Thanksgiving from mine and my brother’s turkey. The turkey was the best I had ever had. I hope he makes it again. Here is how to make it:
Wild Turkey Soup
2 wild turkey breasts
4 potatoes
2 cups of carrots
1 can of mushroom soup
1 package of onion soup mix
Salt and pepper
Slice up 2 wild turkey breasts into small pieces. Chop up 4 potatoes and 2 cups of baby carrots. Put all ingredients in a crockpot with 1 can of mushroom soup and 1 package of onion soup mix also salt and pepper to your liking. Slow cook in a crockpot all day or until potatoes and turkey are done. Add water to your liking of the thickness of your soup.
