County identifies ten road projects to be completed through 2021
DAYTON—At a public hearing on December 2, the Columbia County Commissioners considered, and adopted, three resolutions pertaining to road projects for 2016.
The Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program covers the years 2016 to 2021. It includes an updated listing of proposed road improvement projects, along with a revenue and expenditure analysis. A bridge inspection report for that was prepared by County Engineer Andrew Woods.
The annual construction program for 2016 describes ten road projects, and phase of construction for each, along with estimated costs. The total cost for these road projects is estimated at $4,043,806. according to Woods. Woods said funding will come from mixed federal and state sources, as well as county tax funds.

Lyons Ferry Road: Construction in 2016.
Neace Bridge Replacement (Whiskey Creek Road): Construction in 2016. Bridge replacement
Countywide sign replacement: Construction, 2018 (construction):
South Touchet Road: Right of way in 2016. Construction in 2017.
Starbuck Bridge Replacement (Kellogg Hollow Road): Right of Way in 2017. Construction in 2018. Bridge replacement. Current sufficiency rating of 16.47 and structurally deficient.
Vernon Smith Bridge Replacement (Rose Gulch Road): Right of Way 2016. Construction 2017. Bridge replacement.
Boldman Grade (Hogeye road): Right of Way, 2017. Construction 2018.
Patit Overlay (City limits to MP 3.6): Construction, 2020. Hot mix asphalt.
Patit Overlay (Gammon Road to Lewis Gulch Road): Construction, 2021. Countywide Clear Zone Inventory: To address and minimize potential hazards (trees,etc…)
Resolution # 29: The County Arterial Preservation Program for 2016: Sealcoating and patching will be done on several roads throughout the county.
