Longtime area resident John Edward Hazelbaker 69, passed away on December 19, 2015, at home in Waitsburg, WA.
John was born March 20, 1946, graduated from Waitsburg High School where he then married his wife Penny (Norris) Hazelbaker in Dayton. John served in the Air Force in 1966, as well as serving in Vietnam for two terms. He was an honorable discharge in 1970. He was also master of Waitsburg Grange #1 and commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars for many years.
John has four children, one exchange student, and two son-in-laws;
Dorothy and Brian Bush, Kitzi and Tad Brannock, J.C. Hazelbaker (deceased October 1980), Casey Keown, and Penelope Cortes.
He also has 6 grandchildren;
Tre and Brittany Brannock, Chelsey Brannock, Lexi Brannock, Beau Hazelbaker, and Braxton Hazelbaker.
John was proceeded in death by his mother Eunice (Quigg) Hazelbaker (1970), father Elmer Hazelbaker (1976), and his father-in-law J.B. Norris (2004). And is survived by his mother-in-law Donna Norris of Dayton, WA, numerous nieces, nephews, brother-in-law's and sister-in-law.
John will be missed dearly by friends and family.
Celebration of life will be January 9, 2016 at 3 p.m at the Town Hall in Waitsurg, WA.
