Community members are invited to provide input on direction
DAYTON - In November, the Coalition for Youth and Families hosted the movie Paper Tigers at the Liberty Theater. Many community members have since responded, asking what is next.
Coalition members say they hope to use the information and momentum from that event to help redefine their work. And they’re asking for the community’s help.
Community members will soon be invited to a partial-day or day-long Strategic/Action Planning session that would take a look at the needs and resources of the community through the eyes of different groups, including the Coalition for Youth and Families, Columbia Cares, the After School Task Force, the Library Youth Program, church-based youth programs, 4-H, the business community, law enforcement, city and county governments, and athletic programs.
The group will look at what is currently happening in the community and discuss how to develop a comprehensive plan to move forward for the benefit of children, youth, and families.
For more information, or to participate in organizing the session, contact Peggy Gutierrez at the Coalition for Youth and Families at pgutierrez@columbianet.com, or phone her office at 382-1511, or call her cell at (509) 301-2953.
