Nunset Boulevard at the Liberty Theater

DAYTON – Three years ago, director Bev Startin successfully took on the ambitious task of bringing the wildly popular musical comedy Nunsense to the Liberty Theater. The hilarious tale of a group of unfortunate nuns trying to raise money following a disaster was a hit, with sold out shows throughout its run.

That classic musical comedy by playwright Dan Goggin has entertained audiences far and wide; so much so that Goggin has had a very successful career writing eagerly sought sequels.

The latest in Goggins' series, Nunset Boulevard, will open at the Liberty on January 22 and run through January 30. Bev Startin is returning as director, and Samantha Edwards is joining cast veterans Elizabeth Arebalos-Jagelski, Nancy LaBerge, Kris Takemura, and Deb Fortner.

Nunset Boulevard sees our dear Little Sisters of Hoboken headed to Tinseltown, thrilled at the prospect of performing at the Hollywood Bowl. What a shock for them when they discover that they are actually booked into the Hollywood Bowl-ARama. But spirits once again soar upon hearing that a big-time producer is auditioning people for a new movie musical about the life of Dolores Hart, the famous movie star who became a nun. Could this be their big break?

Featuring all new songs and heavenly humor with the familiar atmosphere of audience participation, Nunset Boulevard is a delightful treat recommended for ages 13 and older. Tickets are $12-$20, with performances at 7 p.m. on January 22, 23, 29, and 30, and at 3p.m. on January 24 and 31. There will be a premiere reception with wine bar from 6-6:50 p.m. on January 22.
