Dayton Girls Win Big Over Lady Cards

Lady 'dogs sprint to 23-8 lead in first quarter on way to 59-27 win

DAYTON – The Dayton girls' basketball team started out red hot here Friday night against a struggling Waitsburg team, and cruised to a 59-27 win.

The Lady Bulldogs broke out to a 23-8 lead after one quarter. Dayton's reserve players took over in the second quarter, and built the lead to 37-18 at the half.

Shayla Currin led her team with 13 points. Josilyn Fullerton added 10 points and Kianna Price had nine.

For Waitsburg, Devon Harshman had seven points, and Taylor Hays added six. Harshman also had a huge night on the boards, pulling down 18 rebounds.

Dayton - 23 14 18 4 - 59
