Tigers' Travis Crockett scores 31, including seven three-pointers, in road loss
DAYTON – The Dayton boys' basketball team hung on against an onslaught by Prescott's Travis Crockett to beat the Tigers 62-54 Friday night.
Crockett ended the game with 31 points, including seven three-point shots. Teammate Jose Gonzales added 19 points, including three three-pointers.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 16-10 first quarter lead, and took a 34-28 lead into halftime. Crockett got hot in the third quarter, however, as the Tigers pulled to within two, 44-42, with a quarter remaining.
Dayton's Ben Kleck had an outstanding game, scoring 28 points, including five three-pointers. Teammate Zach Waggoner had a double-double, scoring 21 points, including two three-pointers, to go along with his 11 rebounds. Tanner Bren added nine points.

Asotin 66, Dayton 54
ASOTIN – Dayton traveled to Asotin Saturday night and gave one of the league's best teams all it could handle, falling 66-54.
The Bulldogs outplayed the Panthers in the first half, taking a 27-21 lead into the break. But Asotin got hot as the Dayton team struggled in the third quarter, and the Bulldogs were outscored 23-10 in that frame. They couldn't recover. Dayton was especially hurt by turnovers in the game, committing 18 to Asotin's four.
For the game, Zach Waggoner finished with his second double-double in two nights, tallying 19 points and 11 rebounds. Ben Kleck added 16 points, including four three-pointers. Cal Martin had seven points.
The Bulldogs finished the weekend with a 3-5 league record, 5-10 overall. They were to ply Walla Walla Valley Academy on the road Tuesday and they host DeSales Friday night. On Saturday they travel to Ritzville for a non-league game.
