Gradwohl, Carter, Dunn hit double figures in balanced Waitsburg attack

COLLEGE PLACE – Waitsburg travled to College Place to take on the Walla Walla Valley Academy Knights on Saturday, and cruised to a big 55-36 win.
The Cardinals had a big first half, outscoring WWVA, 32-19. Waitsburg held the Knights to two third-quarter points as they built an 18-point lead after three.
Kyle Gradwohl led the Cardinals with 13 points. Jason Carter and Jacob Dunn both added 12. Dunn knocked down two three-point shots, and also pulled down 13 rebounds.
The Cardinals sport a 4-3 league record, and are 9-6 overall. They were to host DeSales Tuesday, and Asotin Friday. They travel to Pasco to take on Tri-Cities Prep Saturday night.

WALLA WALLA – The Waitsburg boys suffered an unusually cold shooting night on Jan. 19, falling to the DeSales Irish, 47-33. The Cardinals hit just nine of 58 shots from the floor.
Waitsburg trailed 13-8 after one quarter and were down 27-12 at the half.
Kyle Gradwohl led the Cardinals with 17 points, but he was only three-for-21 from the floor, including one-for-ten from outside the three-point line. Gradwohl did better from the free-throw line, sinking 10 of 11 foul shots. Jason Carter added seven points. Gradwohl also grabbed eight rebounds.
