COLLEGE PLACE – The Dayton Girls played a solid game and easily coasted past Walla Walla Valley Academy on Jan. 26, taking a victory on the road, 47-35.
The Lady Bulldogs took a 22-18 lead into halftime and then extended it to 30-22 after three.
For the game, Shayla Currin had a double-double for Dayton, with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Madison Mings added 11 points, including two three-point shots. Jenna Phillips had 10 points, along with three assists.

DAYTON – The Dayton girls suffered their first league loss of the season Friday night, falling to DeSales, 44-38. The loss dropped the Lady Bulldogs into a tie with the Irish in the SE 2B District 9 league, with each team sporting an 8-1 record.
Dayton fell behind early on hot DeSales shooting, and trailed 18-9 after one quarter. They fought back and were down by only three at the half, 26-23. The game was tied after three, but the Irish went on a 14-8 run in the fourth quarter to pull out the victory.
Jenna Phillips led a balanced Dayton attack, scoring 10 points, while Madison Mings and Sidney Andrews dropped in eight apiece. Mings had two three-points. Josilyn Fullerton pulled down eight rebounds, and Phillips had three assists.

RITZVILLE – The Lady Bulldogs showed their fatigue in the first half of their third game of the week, and couldn’t recover against Lind-Ritzville Saturday night, losing 39-36.
Dayton scored only one point in the second quarter and dug a big hole, trailing 19-8 at the half. After a furious comeback in the third and fourth quarters, the Lady Bulldogs trailed by three points with a few seconds left, but couldn’t convert a three-pointer to tie it.
Sidney Andrews led Dayton with 12 points. Josilyn Fullerton had six points, as did Madison Mings, who’s scoring came on two three-pointers. Shayla Currin led the Lady ‘Dogs with nine rebounds.
