Lady Cards Fall to DeSales, 63-21

WAITSBURG – The Lady Cards fell hard to the DeSales Irish in a home court league match on Tues., Jan. 26. The Irish took the win 63-21.

Waitsburg made 11 points to DeSales 18 in the first quarter but lost steam as the game progressed. The Cards scored six points in quarter three and two each in quarters three and four. The Irish scored 27 points in the second quarter, added 11 in quarter three, and seven in the final quarter.

DeSales senior Emily Baumgart earned nearly half the Irish score with 30 points – all earned in the first half of the game.

High scorer for Watisburg was freshman Devon Harshman with seven points and five rebounds, followed by Lexi Brannock with five. Tayler Jones, Ariel Sandau, Chloe Pearson, and Analisea Araya added two each to the Cardinal's score and Mackenzie Forney added one, going 1-2 on the free throw line.
