With 59-45 win over Lady Cardinals, Dayton moves to playoffs with 11-1 league record
WAITSBURG – The Dayton girls breezed to a 58-29 win over Waitsburg here Friday night, ending their regular season as co-league champions, along with DeSales, with an 11-1 record.
After pulling out to a 20-10 lead in the first quarter, the Bulldogs blew away the Cardinals in the second, outscoring them 27-3, to take a 47-13 halftime lead. Dayton's second string held on for the win in the second half.
Waitsburg ended its season season with a 4-16 record, while Dayton moves on to the playoffs this week.
For the Lady Bulldogs, Shayla Currin led the way scoring, with 17 points. Sidney Andrews added 11 points, and Jenna Phillips had 10. Currin also had 10 rebounds.
For Waitsburg, Devon Harshman had nine points and Chloe Pearson had seven. Harshman also had eight rebounds.
