Dayton takes second, DeSales is ON to State

WAITSBURG – Dayton, Waitsburg, and DeSales made a bid for State in the 2B Regional Knowledge Bowl meet at Waitsburg High School on Mon., Feb. 22. The Irish took the win and will represent regional 2B schools at the state meet in Arlington, Wash. in March.
DeSales earned first place with a score of 83 points and Dayton trailed just behind with 77 points. Waitsburg placed third with a score of 59.
Riverside took an easy first place with a score of 116 at the Feb. 22 1B Regional Meet. Pomeroy was second with 48 points and Prescott placed third with 32 points. Both Riverside Christian and Pomeroy will compete at State from the 1B schools.
"We congratulate DeSales High School on winning the regional championship and earning a trip to state. Our students represented our school well, as did the kids from Waitsburg," said Dayton Knowledge Bowl Coach Doug Yenney.
