WAITSBURG – In 2008, Mayor Markeeta Little Wolf proclaimed March 15th, forever and after, to be Waitsburg Eastern Star Day. It has become the custom since, for Eastern Star members to take cookies and Certificates of Appreciation to local businesses and organizations to show their gratitude for the services they provide to Waitsburg.
This year the group visited the Columbia-Walla Walla Fire District No. 2, The Waitsburg Clinic, Banner Bank, Markeeta Little Wolf at Hubbard Law Office, Black Dog Rescue/Waitsburg Hardware Store, the Waitsburg Resource Center, and the city crew. They also visited Susan Payne and the students in the Dayton Elementary School for collecting pop tabs for Eastern Stars project for the Ronald McDonald House.
