Lady Tigers drop first game, 9-5; rally for 9-8 walk-off win in nightcap
PRESCOTT – The Prescott girls' softball team came up short in the first game of their double-header Saturday against Tri-Cities Prep, losing 9-5. But in the second game, the Lady Tigers rallied for a walk-off winning run in seventh inning to beat the Jaguars 9-8.
In the first game, a fourth-inning error led to four TCP runs and left Prescott trailing 5-1. Three seventh-inning runs sealed the deal for the Jaguars.
For the game, Devon Harshman had three hits and Chloe Pearson had two.
In the second game, TCP jumped on Prescott early with four first-inning runs. But the Lady Tigers fought their way back and took an 8-7 lead after six. After giving up the tying run in the top of the seventh, Deja Williams knocked in Pearson for the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the frame.
Prescott finished with 15 hits, including three each by Williams, Timber Frohreich, Pearson, and Jocelyn Granados.
Overall, the girls played really well and maintained their confidence," said Tiger coach Angie Potts. "Although they're young, they are a really solid group. We are 5-3 overall and 1-3 in league."
