Dayton batters leave multiple runners on base in game two shutout
ASOTIN – The Dayton softball team scored in six of seven innings in game one of their double-header on April 19, and cruised to a 7-2 win. But in game two, the Lady Bulldogs were shut out, despite getting five hits in the game, falling 5-0.
Dayton had seven hits in the first game, including two by Heidi Dobbs, as the team scored in all but the second inning and took advantage of four Asotin errors.
In game two, the Lady 'Dogs committed four errors of their own, and couldn't bring any of their baserunners home.
"We hit the ball consistently in game one, scoring in six innings," said Dayton assistant coach Desirae Jones. "We just didn't get the hits we needed in the second game. We had some amazing plays on defense in both games."
