WALLA WALLA – The Whitman Mission National Historic Site is looking for a K-12 teacher for their 2016 Teacher-Ranger-Teacher position. The Teacher-Ranger-Teacher program is a professional development opportunity for teachers to spend a summer acquiring new skills in experiential learning through a program provided by a partnership between the National Park Service and the University of Colorado Denver.
The participant will spend between four and six weeks, with 240 hours required, at the mission developing a major educational project and participating in an online graduate course from the University of Colorado Denver. Three graduate credits will be earned, a uniform will be provided and a stipend will be paid once the requirements are met.
