Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
March 7, 1994 - June 19, 2016
Dustin James Wooderchak of Waitsburg, Washington passed peacefully in his sleep at home Sunday June 19, 2016.
Dustin was born March 7, 1994 in Great Falls, Montana to James and Stephanie (Johnson) Wooderchak and joined his sister Allie (Wooderchak) Kenyon to make our family complete. Dustin spent his early years in Montana, Idaho, and Texas and his elementary school years were completed in Juliaetta, Idaho; Byers, Texas; and Winifred, Montana. During this time, Dustin enjoyed and embraced the small town life, engaging in: swimming, fishing, hunting, riding ATV's and motorcycles. In Winifred, Montana, Dustin and his father spent many hours hunting mule deer and riding motorcycles through the Missouri River Breaks. In Lewiston, he spent his days at the beach with his mother, and always had his sister Allie not far from his sight.
Dustin moved to Waitsburg, Washington in the summer of 2008 with his family and was instantly welcomed in to the Class of 2012 by his classmates and the community became his second family. At first, he expressed concern over this move as he was leaving a class of 3 students in Winifred, Montana to join a class of 26 students, worrying Waitsburg might be too big, Dustin quickly learned the community was the home he had hoped for, and his love for Waitsburg was always present in his conversations. He and his sister Allie spent two years together in High School and those memories for Allie will always be special.
Dustin was a scholar athlete enjoying football and basketball throughout high school. He was a member of the 2011 2B Gridiron Classic Championship Team and would proudly visit with people about the experience when asked. The championship season was a special season for him being named to the All-State First Team as a Defensive Linebacker. The time he spent with his teammates on and off the field were very special to him.
Upon graduating from high school, Dustin attended Walla Walla Community College and received an Associates Degree in General Studies while working for Northwest Grain Growers for several years where he enjoyed all work related to agriculture. Dustin was very proud to be on a maintenance crew for Northwest Grain Growers updating electrical machinery in grain elevators, a project which took an entire winter to complete. Dustin was also member of the Department of Labor Electrical Apprenticeship program completing 3000 documented hours as an electrical apprentice aspiring to have a career as an electrician.
Dustin's presence in any setting ensured others would be welcome, his spirit for life was felt, his sense of adventure was followed, and a moment in time will be remembered forever.
Dustin is survived by his parents James and Stephanie Wooderchak of Waitsburg, Washington, his sister Allie (Doug)Kenyon of Boise, Idaho, his grandparents Bill and Mary Wooderchak of Lewiston, Idaho and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who all share many wonderful memories of the 22 special years we were given with Dustin.
Services for Dustin have taken place. The family suggests memorial donations to local Touchet Valley Food Banks in Dustin's name. Online condolences may be sent to http://www.mtviewfuneralhome.com
