SE WASHINGTON – The Washington Dept. of Natural Resources currently has funding targeting the health of forest land in eastern Washington available for cost-share fuel reduction projects. The goal of the program is to improve forest health and reduce the risk of damage from wildfire and forest insects.

The Blue Mountain Resource Conservation and Development Council is assisting by providing outreach, education, and workshops in Asotin, Columbia, Garfield, and Walla Walla counties. A workshop will be held in Walla Walla in the spring of 2017.

Applications include program information, a list of updated cost-share practices, current cost-share rates, and an application form. Applications are available by contacting Lisa Naylor at lisa.naylor@rocketmail.com or by calling (509) 386-6021.
