Lady 'Dogs are #1 seed in regional playoffs
EAST WENATCHEE – The Dayton girls' basketball team started their playoff run this year with a 55-40 drubbing of Brewster here on Saturday in District 5/6 play.
The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead, up 20-9 at the end of the first quarter, and leading 35-20 at the half.
Each team scored 20 points in the second half, but the outcome was never in question.
Dayton moves on to next weekend's round-of-16 regional playoffs, as number-one seed. They will play number-eight seed, Colfax, at Richland High School on Sat., Feb. 25 at 4 p.m.
Jenna Phillips led Bulldog scoring with 23 points. Sidney Andrews had 14, and Shayla Currin added 10. Currin also had eight rebounds, and Josilyn Fullerton had five assists.
