Margie Goddard Burns, of Dayton, passed away on April 23, 2017 at the age of 74 years. Margie was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on May 19, 1942.
Margie moved to Wilbur, WA, in 1974 and raised her three children there. She held many jobs: waitress, cook, assistant to a CPA, church secretary, carpenter.
She loved to fish and camp with her children and friends.
Margie moved to Walla Walla in 1985 and worked in various nursing homes and as a caregiver.
In 2008, Margie moved to Dayton. She cooked meals at the Dayton Senior Center and loved her job there until her retirement.
Margie enjoyed visiting with friends at the Senior Center. She was a friend to everyone and touched so many people with her love, kindness and laughter.
Margie was an "armchair traveler," and always enjoyed hearing of others travels. Her favorite book was her Atlas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jon Burns, a daughter-in-law, Julie Burns and a grandson, Johnny Sercl.
She is survived by sons, Jon and David and a daughter, Connie. Grandchildren: Jennifer, Stormy, Nina, Bramdon and Justin. And a great granddaughter, Harley.
A Celebration of Life is planned for June 3 at the Dayton Senior Center. A dessert potluck will be served.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Dayton Senior Center and Project Timothy in Dayton.
