Barnstorming Aircraft to Land at Martin Field

COLLEGE PLACE – The Pacific Northwest Air Tour will make its final stop at Martin Field Lane in College Place at 2 p.m. on Thurs., July 13. Over 40 planes will arrive Thurday afternoon and remain overnight to depart Friday morning. The event is free and open to the public.

The Puget Sound Antique Airplane Club organized the air tour with the objective of recreating the historic barn storming tours of the 1930’s that brought aviation appreciation to communities across the nation. A sampling of planes include: Pre-war Howards, and Interstates; Stearman and Fairchild military trainers; and numerous post war Aeronca, Beechcraft, Bellanca, Cessnas, Piper and Taylorcraft aircraft. The public is invited to come out and view the planes and meet the pilots.

The tour began in Prosser, Wash. with stops in Joseph, Ore., and McCall, Grangeville, and Orofino, Ida., prior to the final stop in College Place.
