-Reviewed wellness policy
- Superintendent Mishra gave an update on preschool. The preschool is fully enrolled for a morning session with 20 students. Five are returning out-of-district students who were grandfathered in. There are four children on the waiting list. If more ECEAP applications are received, the district will consider adding an afternoon session. The program currently operates at about $5,000/per student which is less than the $6,500-$7,000 ECEAP estimate, and includes the program, personnel, and meals.
-Discussion on retaining the cross country program in light of low interest. Board approved continuing the program for at least one more year. See story at top ofpage.
-Approved $11,500 transfer from the general fund to the transportation/vehicle fund to bring it to $150,000. The purchase of a new, large bus is in process.
-Approved transfer to general fund from debt service fund to reimburse for legal counsel that was paid in advance from the general fund.
-Approved minimum education requirements as required by the state.
-Approved K-12 certificated instructional staff salary schedule for 2017-18. The schedule was adjusted based on the 2.3% state-approved COLA increase.
-Approved extra-curricular advisory stipend schedule, extra-curricular advisory stipend schedule, webpage coordinator/board recorder stipend schedule, high school coaching stipends, middle school coaching stipends, and athletic director stipends.
-Approved 2017-18 fee schedule. All fees remain the same except for the federally required 10-cent increase in meals.
-The board unanimously approved the hire of Roy Ramirez as both boys and girls high school basketball coach.
-Supt. Mishra said enrollment numbers are approximately 255 students.
-The board and superintendent discussed questions from the book, “Leading with Focus.”
