MABTON - The Lady Bulldogs made a quick win over Mabton, taking the Vikings 25-8, 25-9, and 25-23 in a league match, here on Oct. 5. The win places the Bulldogs 6-3 overall and 2-1 in league play.
Scully Castorena made nine kills, 11 assists, one ace and four digs and Hanna Becker dished out 11 kills, nine assists, two digs and one ace. Megan Robins made eight kills and nine digs, Tatum Laughery served a perfect 19/19 with three aces and ten digs and Shaelyn Fortier served 12/12 with three aces and seven digs.
Dayton Loses to TCP in Five
DAYTON – The Lady Bulldogs took the first two matches 25-26 and 25-21, but Tri-Cities Prep rallied to take the final three matches 25-12, 26-24, 15-10 for the win on the Dayton court on Oct. 3.
“We played together our first two sets but then completely lost our edge,” said Dayton coach Shannon Turner. “We couldn’t pass the ball and made numerous unforced errors. We need ot stay focused and finish a match. We got lazy and quit communicating,” she added.
Hanna Becker served 14/15 with two aces, 15 kills, nine assists, nine blocks and eight digs. Megan Robins served a perfect 24/24 with five aces, eight kills, one block and 17 digs. Scully Castorena went 19/20 on the service line and made three aces, seven kills, 13 assists, one block, and 20 digs while Kaleigh White made 13 kills, two aces, three blocks, and nine digs.
“We will learn from this and move forward,” Turner said.
