Thursday is Pink Out Breast Cancer Night and Alumni Game
Waitsburg vs. LWK
The Lady Cardinals traveled to LaCrosse on Thursday, losing three sets against LaCrosse/Washtucna/Kaholotus, 25-21, 25-16, 25-17. The league loss leaves the Cardinals standing7-10 overall and 0-6 in SE1B league play.
“Defensively, we had a better week this week against Colton and LWK. We dug more balls and sustained more rallies. We still need to keep improving on our serve-receive passing and transfer what we’re doing in practice into the matches,” Coach Angie Potts said.
Devon Harshman had four kills, three blocks, and seven digs, Ariel Sandau had two kills, four digs, 10 assists, and five aces, and Kirsten Miller had three kills and 10 digs. Tayler Jones pitched in two kills, seven digs and two aces, Kailyn Lewis added two kills andTeagen Larsen made four digs.
Waitsburg vs. Colton
The Lady Cardinals took a home court hit when they fell to the Colton in four sets on Tues., Oct. 10. The Cardinals fell 25-15 in the first set, but fought hard and took second set win 25-11. Colton recovered to take the final sets 25-17 and 25-3.
The loss was the fifth in a losing streak that Coach Angie Potts said has left its mark on the team.
The Lady Cards play Touchet at home on Tuesday at 6 p.m. and host the Alumni team at 6 p.m. on Thursday for homecoming.
“Thursday is also our Pink Night Breast Cancer Fundraiser. Our silent auction bake sale will start at 5:30 p.m. and will close just after the second set of the alumni match. Proceeds will go to local families so we hope to see everyone out and bidding!” Potts said.
