BMS Market Manager Takes Walla Walla Job

McMasters also announced that Melissa Weatherford is leaving her position as the Blue Mountain Station market manager, for a job with the veteran's administration in Walla Walla.

"This new opportunity will offer her more quality time with her family, benefits and security," McMasters said in his most recent BMS E-Newsletter.

McMasters said, "Change is hard, and change can be scary (both Melissa and I are feeling that), but as Bernard Shaw wrote, 'Progress is impossible without change.'"

Weatherford said she plans to continue her catering business on a part-time basis, but she looks forward to her new job cooking at the VA's new retirement home.

A subcommittee has formed of board members and the Port members to determine roles and responsibilities of the next market manager, McMasters said.

McMasters said he plans to stay on in his capacity as board president at the Blue Mountain Station through 2017, and may remain into 2018.

Weatherford will leave her job at the BMS market on November 20 or 21, she said.

There is an opportunity for volunteers to help out, she said.
