Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley

Patricia Sacha is New BMS Market Manager

Experienced BMS supplier will make for easy transition

DAYTON-Patricia Sacha is a natural in her new role as the Blue Mountain Station's Market manager.

Sacha farmed the garden at the Blue Mountain Station in 2015.

Since 2016 she and her husband, David, have been operating Hidden Gardens Farm, supplying microgreens and herbs to the BMS Market and to local restaurants.

Sacha said is familiar with what running the market entails.

"I used to help Melissa (Weatherford) with packaging products and stocking shelves," she said. "I already know a lot of the vendors. So, it made it easier to transition."

In her role as the new market manager Sacha is responsible for promoting the market and the businesses in the BMS.

She is also responsible for daily operations, which include: stocking shelves, placing orders, and keeping the market in tip-top shape, she said.

She said she is not responsible for cooking delicious soups and breads, because Mandi at the Weinhard Café is.

Sacha said she will be more than just a little busy.

In the middle of January she hopes to begin moving her farming operation from two acres in Dixie, to five acres, in Waitsburg.

Sacha also has a 3-month-old daughter, Kimberly, a 4-year-old son, David Jr., and an 8- year-old daughter, Kahlynn, to care for at her home in Dixie.

Sacha has hit the ground running with her first newsletter promoting the market as a great place "to shop for holiday meals, winter comfort food staples and handmade gifts" and promoting membership to the Co-op.

"I am very excited about this opportunity and the chance to be part of the growth of the Blue Mountain Station and to share with you all the wonderful things happening here," Sacha said in her newsletter.

"I love being part of the community in a different role," Sacha said.
