Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
The Waitsburg Resource Center helped keep kids fed and entertained during winter break by offering free lunches and activities on Tues., Wed., and Thurs. each week of break. The resource center served 80 lunches. Children made airplanes and lid ornaments, colored, played games, put together puzzles and built with LEGOs. Older kids, grandparents and community members helped Pastor Matt Wyatt with the children. "The kids were a joy to be around. This is possible not just because WRC sponsors the lunches but also because Susan Wildey, with permission from the school administration, orders the food for the WRC which, in turn, reimburses the school," said WRC Board Chair Pam Conover.
