Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
DAYTON—Washington state Governor Jay Inslee has proclaimed April 9 through April 15 Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. Lisa Caldwell, Columbia County Emergency Management Services Director, would like to give a shout out for her staff, who are the critical link to providing life, and safety response, during times of crisis.
“When people think about first responders, often you will hear them talk about law enforcement, fire, or ambulance. I believe this is because the 911 dispatcher is rarely seen. They are the voice that provides calm during chaos, hidden behind the scene,” she said.
“Each Columbia County dispatcher takes pride in their job, knowing they are helping people that may be having the worst day of their life. I am honored to work with such a dedicated staff here in Columbia County,” said Caldwell.
Columbia County’s EMS staff includes Felice Henderson, Laurie Richardson, Vicki Zoller, Barbara Phinney, Cindy House, Tiffany Baxter, Desirae Meza and Brooke Mikesell.
