Walla Walla and Columbia Counties both have several open positions this year

WALLA WALLA – Candidate filing for 2018 local and state elections opens Monday and runs through Friday.

In Walla Walla County, Candidates may electronically submit declarations of candidacy through our website at: https://weiapplets.sos.wa.gov/onlinecandidatefiling?countycode=wl.

Walla Walla County candidates may also file in-person at the elections office at 310 W. Poplar St. or by mail. Office hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Walla Walla County positions that are open this year include Assessor, Auditor, Clerk, Commissioner for District 3, Coroner, Prosecuting Attorney, Sheriff, Treasurer, and two District Court judge positions – one full time and one part time.

In Columbia County, candidates may file in person in the County Auditor’s office in the courthouse between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Offices open in Columbia County include Assessor, Auditor, Clerk, Commissioner for District 3, Coroner, Prosecuting Attorney, Sheriff, Treasurer and District Court Judge.

In both counties, all positions are for four year.

In addition, both state representative positions in Legislative District 16 are up for election this year. Filing dates and times are the same as for county positions. Both state representative positions are for two-year terms.
